It’s a Shame for Philippines universities in the World Wide Rankings 2008

Its time we focus on the issues at hand. A growing younger population, of a divided nation of people who are leading this country with greed. To show a fine example is the World Wide Universities Ranking for 2008...

In Asian Ranking Top 100 January 2008, our neighboring countries like...
- Singapore has landed 10th and 50th position with 2 universities for the Island State
- Thailand has landed 32nd, 52nd and 95th position with 3 different universities for the Royal Kingdom
- Indonesia has landed 97th position with 1 university for their Republic

In Asian Ranking Top 100 July 2008, our neighboring countries like....
- Singapore has landed 6th and 55th positions with 2 universities for a Island State
- Thailand has landed 44th, 52nd and 69th position with 3 different universities for the Royal Kingdom

Where was Philippines in the Ranking of Top 100 this year,....well no where.

It will be like this for a long, long time as long as the Government approach to produce OFWs with glorification that such jobs to nurture the young to grow up to become Domestic helpers, Nurses, Seaman and women,...latest being Cooks or Chefs. The brain drain has not begun just today, its in a full momentum to drive this country's future to resounding halt where there will be inadequate professionals to manage this country. The brains or the managers will then have to be outsourced or contracted to come to work in the Philippines.

What is happening is that today a mom and dad will tell his 1st grader child,... " Dear son / daughter... we your parents are working so hard to earn money to put you into school so that you can grow up to be a OFW...."   errrmmmm lost or misguided visions,...I remember before 20 or 30 years ago parents want their children to grow up to be doctors, lawyers, pilots, engineers, police officers, soldiers. The value of professionalism has been removed from this country,....the corruption is here to stay for many years to come.

Today as the population grows the leaders can only think how of much money to borrow and spnd first for themselves and how much taxes we the people have to pay that can be imposed in the fastest way possible. There is no future plan of where we can be or who we can become. We spend more for corruption and illegal activities instead of the education of masses. There is not enough for the the child who needs to be brought into a environment to grow and learn. But there is enough to fight a civil war because of documents of peace and personal differences of who the land belongs to.

The commercialism of this society should be controlled with a humble leader, a new hero for this century. A wake up call is inorder, but its falling on deaf ears and it will always be the gracious ignorance till the worst comes our way and strikes us hard.

It shall be too late,...just like when a incompetent captain are put to steer a ship into a eye of storm thinking he will stay afloat. The time to pay that price will come and no parent then can blame anyone except themselves for not having a greater visions for themselves and their children.

The art today is to build respect within the communities of filipinos. There is no respect anymore because everyone here in this country lives in a cycle of survive at all cost and at the expense of everyone else. We still are believing leaders who just want to break bread for money.

Our society including our religion has become so beholden to the Money God. Its shameful when we dont want to work and we look for the easiest ways out in everything so we can exit hardworking life. A fruitless journey to our future and children's future and children's children's future.

Goodness is gone when we stop building what we believe in.
