Why is it an advantage? The people who believe in an independent Philippines and that native born Filipinos should run the country are the ones that would want Erap running for another term if the people really believe he would be good for the country.
His chances of winning are mediocre at best but as he campaigns he can win like I said the diehards who believe in independence. Binay might be able to deliver many of Metro Manila that does not support him now. Erap knows how to nationally campaign so the only thing stopping him is the Commission on Elections - Comelec and the Supreme Court.
Here in Gubat there are candidates wanting to register for public office with dual citizenships. According to TV news you have to give up your overseas citizenship before you can run for an office. I know because my mother kidded me about it.
I only have four of the required ten years residence, but because of WAR obviously you cannot have dual citizenship, loyalty to the country. If I have the kuwarta (money) of Binay, I would campaign anyway and give free food to the poor and teach my ideas of how to develop the country.
So can Binay still run for vice president if the LAW does not allow Erap? Half a kilo of rice and safely packaged sardines and a Zesto fruit drink for a day is better than nothing. I will even take dried fish to eat the rice, if he speaks in Gubat. Remove the meat from the bones, you kids.
