Allow your senses to wander and wonder around me. Do you notice something? Have you done something for these? My situation has been drastically changed now, than what I am before your forefather’s forefather.

 

My mountains are being ripped out of trees. My bodies of water can now bring you sickness, unlike before when you can use my waters practically for almost everything. What about now? You buy purified water to quench your thirst and in the future you will also be buying oxygen just to remain alive and breathe your way through. My temperature is now constantly increasing. Today, as the sun is still rising, as its ray’s touches your skin, it gives you a painful burning sensation. In areas where it used to be cold, it’s now getting hotter. Almost every road is now adorned with boondocks of garbage. Summer season that is wet and wet season that is excessively wet. You are experiencing prolonged drought that bring disastrous effects. Areas that used to be safe during rainy days, now being flooded more than 15 feet above the ground. The unprecedented rising level of the ocean due to rapid liquidation of the polar ice caps, these and many more are the signs that I, the nature is swiftly altering. Alteration that is when left unabated, it will convey supernatural harm for both me and you. You who have made everything that are happening to me.

 

You can do something. Equip yourselves with power and exemplify constructive change. If each and every one of you people will act, no matter how little the step may seem, if it’s done collectively, it can do big.

 

“May pera sa basura”, “luntiang Pilipinas”, “reduce, re-use, recycle”. These are just a few of the adages you framed. But you never did give serious attention to them. If you are only to understand deeper, you will realize that no matter how you have over looked these ideas, when they are made to work, you can make my devastation gradually undone.

 

You have your “Clean Air Act” and soon your “Climate Change Act” hoping you can address my lamentations. Well and good, I just brace myself that you yourselves will follow the rules you set.

 

Until when will you take pleasure in ravaging me? I, who through God has given you shelter and refuge, until when will you be trained? If the initiative is not now, when will it be? To this very day, you have and will always feel my wrath, my rage, my anger, my revenge! Do you not have pity for the future of your next generations? People, wake up from your deep sleep!

 

Be sensitive, join the cause, get out of the box and start doing your share to generate a positive impact. Be pro me, be pro answer and not the setback causer!
