Congratulations to Showtime. It has been staging the best of young Pinoy’s group, song, dance, and variety creativity. Far from being American copycats, these groups of young boys, girls, and gays have been spending their time constructively by organizing and practicing their number relentlessly.
Their choreography, though evidently amateur, is nevertheless enjoying to watch. Few even have that Broadway flavor. Among so many variety shows on TV, Showtime is a cut above the rest. Its spontaneity, fast pace, and unscripted segments are led by hosts Vhong , Anne Curtis (who is a pleasant hosting discovery, and Matanglawin Kuya Kim).
Not only the studio audience but their choice judges are themselves source of fun while they too are having a blast- what with their witty remarks and sensible judging (specially mention for Amy who really know her job and Yanna, the flowered morena beauty.
Not to mention Vice Ganda and his toasty jokes. Showtime is not called a variety show for nothing- because any group, be it a choir, a glee club, a marching band, a circus troupe, or just a gang of trike drivers can show off their hidden talents. I think Showtime will give Willie a run for his Wowowee.
