What Manny Pacquiao has just done is more amazing than what the heavyweights like Muhammad Ali, Evander Holyfield, or Mike Tyson have accomplished. Unlike our own Manny, not one of these heavies ever tried to sing after they fought their matches.

 

Not only has Pacquiao garnered in grand-slam fashion seven different titles to his name, but he is the only athlete in boxing history who, after a grueling 12-round fight in the ring, this hardly-rested pugilist could still belt a song in the lobby and then join a concert to do more singing. How do you like that? No other boxer had ever done such a feat.

 

To this great Pinoy, it seems that that mega match with Cotto was only a walk in the clouds. Time magazine should have captioned its cover photo with a more fitting “The Great Brown Hope” or “The Singing Slugger”.
