Pinay sentenced in US for killing granddaughter

VIRGINIA – A Filipina grandmother convicted of killing her granddaughter by throwing her off a 6-storey walkway was sentenced to 35 years in prison in the US.
Carmela de la Rosa was convicted of killing her 2-year-old granddaughter Angelyn Ogdoc in 2010.
De la Rosa had admitted in a videotaped confession that she killed Ogdoc to get back at her son-in-law for impregnating her daughter out of wedlock.
She had thrown her grandchild off a 6-storey walkway that connected the parking structure to a mall.
De la Rosa unsuccessfully tried to argue insanity during the trial. Her lawyer plans to file an appeal.
