Pinay killed in car crash in California
MANILA - A Filipina was killed on impact after a car smashed into the vehicle she was driving last week in Bakersfield, California.
The fatality was identified as Princess Flores Almonidovar, 22.
Almonidovar had been working as a respiratory therapist at the San Joaquin Community Hospital for over a year.
According to a report by the Bakersfield Californian, the accident happened at 3 a.m. on Friday at the intersection of Ming Avenue and New Stine Road.
Police arrested the suspect Alex Rubio, 24, who attempted to escape. He was allegedly drunk behind the wheel.
The report said Almonidovar was a pastor's daughter. She immigrated to the US with her family in 2003.
A memorial service for Almonidovar is scheduled at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, at the St. John's Lutheran Church Sanctuary.
