MANILA – The Filipina, whose powerful voice impressed many Israelis, may have won X-Factor Israel but she is not sure if she would give up her job as a caregiver.
Fostanes' journey on X Factor was followed by thousands of Filipinos here and abroad. She became an inspiration to many for her hard work, dedication, and love for her family in the Philippines.
"Pero siguro maiinitindihan din naman niya (her employer) kung ipagpapatuloy ko yung singing career ko," Fostanes said.
Fostanes has been a caregiver in Israel for seven years now. She is currently working for a family in Tel Aviv.
"Nasa middle 50's, pamilya sila. Nakakalakad pa naman. Kailangan ko lang tulungan sa gawain bahay kapag umaalis yung asawa niya, anak niya kasi di siya makakilos kasi meron siyang sakit na scleroderma," she said.
Aside from Israel, Fostanes has also been an OFW in Egypt and Lebanon. As the eldest in the family, she said she continues to support her siblings after their father left them when she was just 11.
"Ako na yung tumayong tatay simula noong iniwanan kami ng ama namin when I was 11.
