LONDON, ENGLAND - The camp of the Ignacio "Iggy" Arroyo's partner, Grace Ibuna, is questioning the validity of the marriage of the late congressman to Aleli Arroyo.

In a court hearing over the battle for custody of Iggy's remains, Grace said the marriage may be null and void because a certificate of finality of the annulment of Iggy's first marriage was not received by the Quezon City local registry in the early 1990s.

However, Aleli's lawyer Lorna Kapunan said a mistress has no right to the remains of a person.

Kapunan also challenged Grace to face them in Philippine courts and withdraw her injunction in the England for Iggy's remains.

The hearing on the case will resume Tuesday. - report from ANC
