Undocumented Pinoy kills 3 in Ohio shooting rampage
REDWOOD CITY, California – An undocumented Filipino was arrested on Monday after killing three men during a shooting spree inside a bar in Ohio.
Police said Igmidio Mista, 33, opened fire inside the Last Call Bar in Fremont, Ohio.
Off-duty Elmore police officer Jose Andy Chavez, who was celebrating his birthday, was shot and killed.
Bartender Ramiro Sanchez and customer Daniel Ramirez also died.
Mista reportedly got into an argument with the off-duty police officer’s unidentified wife. He ended up punching the woman in the face.
Witnesses said Mista then left the bar, but returned through a side door and began shooting.
Witnesses added Mista had no particular target, but was just aiming his gun at anybody inside the bar.
After fleeing the scene of the crime, police conducted a manhunt for Mista through the weekend.
He was arrested by police on Monday morning at the home of his relative.
Mista was arraigned on Monday on three murder charges.
No plea was entered.
His preliminary hearing is set on March 20.
Mista is reportedly a Filipino national with an expired US visa.
