CALIFORNIA – Filipino-American contestant Malaya Watson fought tears when she faced the media after being eliminated on American Idol Season 13.

Although it was heartbreaking for her, Watson still remained positive and expressed her gratitude to her Filipino fans.

"I did what I wanted to do and I'm glad I came out doing what I like. Thanks, guys. You guys are the best, and just stay tuned because I'm not done. I'm not done," Watson said.

The 16-year-old high school tuba player received the lowest number of votes on American Idol.

Watson's rendition of "Through the Fire" this week did not receive high marks from the judges and viewers alike.

In a previous interview, Watson said she's proud of what she has accomplished on Idol.

She was also happy when she found out that fellow Fil-Am Idol alum Jessica Sanchez supported her.

"Thank you. You know, it's pretty awesome to have another Idol who's also Filipino," she said.

Her Filipina mom, Marian Bandico Watson, flew from Michigan to Hollywood to be with her daughter.

Singer-judge Keith Urban said Watson has a bright future in the entertainment industry.

"Malaya has the voice and is so comfortable onstage. So young and so gifted," he said.

After her Idol commitments, Watson is interested to try acting, if given a chance.

"I always wanted to be on a movie or a TV show so hopefully that works out," she said.

She will sing again on American Idol stage in Season 13's finale in May.
