1,131 OFWs from Libya have new jobs overseas

MANILA, Philippines – A total of 1,131 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who have been repatriated from Libya have found new jobs in other countries, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz said.

"Based on the latest report of the DOLE Task Force Middle East, 1,126 OFWs repatriated from Libya have found jobs outside of Libya. They are now in various stages of processing their documentation prior to deployment," Baldoz said in a press statement.

The number brought to 2,396 the number of OFWs from Libya who want to return overseas.

Their respective licensed recruitment agencies (LRAs) are already looking for principals who will hire them, Baldoz said.

"In fact, some employers, like Bonatti, have sent representatives to Manila to inform its 78 former workers to wait until April 30 for their recall. Bonatti gave each worker an allowance of US$250 while waiting," she added.

SNC Lavalin, another employer, plans to recall all of its Filipino workers for overseas assignment, she said.

Baldoz said the 1,131 workers who have found new overseas jobs are those of Batangueño Human Resource, Inc. (18); Eastwest Placement Center,Inc (39); Krona International Service Systems, Inc. (11); ABCA International (6); Asian Construction and Development Corporation (938); STB-DJL (14); and LBS Recruitment Solutions Corporation (105).
