Pinoy artist to hold exhibit in Mexico

MANILA, Philippines - A Filipino artist will hold a one-man exhibition in Mexico City this week.

Manuel Baldemor will showcase more than a hundred of his works at the exhibition "La Sincronía Filipino-Mexicana” (Philippine and Mexican Synchronicity) at the Centro Cultural Ollin Yoliztli, Sala Tonáli in Mexico City from June 3 to 23.

His exhibit is part of the Philippine Embassy's activities to commemorate the 116th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence.

In his exhibit, Baldemor show Philippine art and cultural traits as influenced by Mexican traditions, folk and ritual customs.

The inauguration will be held on June 3 and will be open to the general public for free, starting June 4.

Baldemor has mounted one-man exhibits in major cities around the world. He has collaborated with numerous national ministries of arts and culture, including those of France, Russia, Egypt, Latvia and Estonia, to develop artistic projects. He has also worked with various United Nations agencies in Vienna and New York where his murals adorn their offices.
