Apl.de.ap wants to build a school in PH
LOS ANGELES – Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas paid the students at a predominantly Filipino Immaculate Heart of Mary School a visit.
Apl gave them an unforgettable lecture by inspiring them with his life story and words of encouragement.
"I hope I inspired. It's great. I love the energy. I love their questions," he said.
The school's award-winning choir then went on to serenade him. The hip-hop team also got his praises.
While others got to ask him some questions, the Grammy winning musician-turned-philanthropist had a chance to reveal a future plan.
"In 5 years I would like to have a college in the Philippines, a school," he said. "With all the classrooms we've been building, were going to scale up and then have one main school for all the classrooms".
Apl is currently on the road hosting a series of concerts aimed to benefit typhoon victims, as well as blind Pinoys.
Whether it's curing blindness, rebuilding disaster areas or reaching out to school kids, for Apl.de.ap, who is living out his American dream, one of the Pampanga native's priorities will always be building better lives for children.
