Pinay, hubby found dead in apparent murder-suicide in US
ANAHEIM, California - Financial problems may have been the motive for the murder-suicide of an Anaheim couple.
Police found the husband and wife dead Monday morning after responding to an emergency call placed by one of the
couple’s children.
Public records showed that the house where the couple was found is owned by Wayne and Herminia Zickefoose, a Filipina.
Anaheim police said Wayne’s co-worker went to their house to check why he did not show up for work.
Police preliminary investigation showed that the husband may have shot his Filipino wife first before shooting himself.
Their 5-year-old son told authorities that his father tried to shoot him, and then shot his mother and his 3-year-old brother.
The younger brother was shot multiple times. As of posting, he was in the hospital still in critical but stable condition.
The family's neighbors are still in shock. They said the mother was kind though she kept to herself most of the time.
“She was quiet, she played with kids outside. They’re good people. I didn’t expect anything like that,” said another neighbor, Lanette Maldonado.
Records indicate the Zickefoose family started missing payments on their house early last year and filed for bankruptcy last February.
“Maybe it was more than just financial problems I don't know. I just hope that they (children) recede and come out of it. They’re pretty young and hopefully they’ll go to good relatives… It’s just sad they lost their mom and dad, it really is,” said neighbor Roger Tafolla. Balitang America
