HOLLAND - Patriotism is at its highest now in Holland because of the World Cup 2010 that is taking place in South Africa.

Even Filipinos based here rallied behind the Dutch football team to show their support.

“Siyempre dito tayo nakatira, kailangan nating suportahan ang Holland,” Gio Van Gurp said.

Philippine Ambassador Cardoza Luna was amazed at how Pinoys have become fully integrated into the society.

“Makikita natin sa mga Pilipino yung damdamin nila bilang nandito sa Holland. Makikita mo their integration into the society of the Holland community,” Luna said.

Dutch-Filipinos also joined the “Orange Fever” by wearing the color orange to express their solid support to the Dutch football team.

“Para na rin tayong Nederlander kaya naka orange din kami,” Edwin Vicente said.

Three Filipino-Americans vacationing from California have found the orange fever very contagious and awesome.

“I was excited to see and experience the Holland people coming together and watching football,” said Alexandra Manlapaz.

“They all wear orange,” Isabelle Gerian added.
