Family of Fil-Am hit-and-run victim offering reward

REDWOOD CITY, California – A short walk to the store in San Jose, California has turned tragic for a Filipino family.

John Paul Garcia, 26, was walking home from a store with his nephew when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street at a crosswalk.

Witnesses said a vehicle, possibly a black sedan, ran a red light and struck Garcia on Wednesday night.

The suspect drove off.

Garcia is now in critical condition at a local hospital with injuries that could leave him paralyzed.

His family is offering a $2,000 reward to anyone who can help track down the alleged hit-and-run driver.
