MANILA -- The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has raised Alert Level 4 in Gaza, due to security threats posed by the conflict to Filipinos living in the area.
Under Alert Level 4, the Philippine government implements mandatory repatriation of Filipino nationals.
The DFA said Philippine embassies in Cairo, Tel Aviv, and Amman are prepared to repatriate Filipinos from Gaza, in coordination with the concerned authorities of Israel, Egypt, Jordan and the United Nations, as well as other international organizations operating in Gaza.
Alert Level 2, or the Restriction Phase, is raised in areas in Israel within 15 kilometers from the border with Gaza.
Alert Level 1, or the Precautionary Phase, remains raised in the West Bank and in the rest of Israel.
Meanwhile, the DFA continues to closely monitor developments in the area, as the Philippines calls for cessation of hostilities to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
