2 'hard working' OFWs in Italy cited
FAENZA, Italy - Two Filipinos were recently honored for their dedication and hard work in Italy.
Both Samuel Avecilla and Edmond Pascual were surprised to receive certificates from their employers, recognizing their hard work.
“Masaya, challenging at saka hindi siya mahirap. OK lang. Ito pala ang kauna-unahang team ng mga Pilipino na kakaibang trabaho so iba ang pakiramdam kasi Pinoy tayo,” said Pascual of Sonnen Systeme and Solar GI SRL.
Avecilla, on the other hand, is the first Filipino to have work for 2 years for his Italian employer as an ordinary employee.
Because of his passion and dedication to work, he is now a project engineer of 2 companies manufacturing solar power.
“Itong system na ginagawa natin nagle-lead sa isa sa pinakamaganda na tracking system sa buong mundo kaya proud kami na kami ang napili nila na gumawa ng system na ito at saka iyong tiwala nila nagtuloy-tuloy sa aming pagtatrabaho,” said Avecilla.
Through Avecilla’s help, Pascual was employed in the same company. The 2 then helped other Filipinos to gain employment in their company.
Their employers are Italian and Germans who only hire Filipino workers in the company.
“They are concentrated. They have a good education and they work very exact,” said Frank Selle, Technical director of Sonnen Systeme.
For his part, Solar G.I. SRL project director Gianni Didio said that Filipinos have special skills and can be counted on.
