LOS ANGELES - A body was found on the hills north of Los Angeles, possibly of a missing FBI agent.
Los Angeles County Coroner officials are still trying to determine if human remains found in a remote are Burbank, California, is that of FBI Special Agent Stephen Ivens.
Hikers found a body on Monday night, near Ivens’ home. The police reportedly also found a gun not far from the body.
Ivens was reported missing in May, after which authorities and his family launched an exhaustive search.
Ivens’ Filipina wife Thea, has been leading search efforts since his disappearance.
Earlier reports from the Los Angeles Times said Ivens was diagnosed with depression.
A representative for the family told Balitang America that they are not ready to comment on the new development, as the coroner’s investigation continues.
