Bruno Mars' sisters to model for Robinsons
CULVER CITY, CA. - Superstar Bruno Mars' sisters are the new faces for Robinsons Department Stores' ad campaign.
The Lylas (short for Love You Like A Sister), a group composed of Mars' Filipina-Puerto Rican-American sisters, recently signed with Robinsons Department Store.
The eldest sister Jamie Hernandez founded the global charity group Mothers About Making Amends (Mama Earth) five years ago. The charity promotes giving humanitarian, environmental and arts causes.
Part of the project with Robinsons will benefit Mama Earth, which does not yet have a Philippine chapter.
"They have a thing going right now if you spend a certain amount a percentage of the sales they have these reusable shopping bag and a part of the proceeds from that will be donate to charity and to Mama Earth," Jamie said.
The Lylas, who are managed by Arnold Vegafria, are also musicians. They are working on releasing an album in October. Their brother Peter is better known as Bruno Mars, a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter.
"We always grew up, our family is a musical family, so we grew up around music and all our stars are aligned now and we have opportunities that we're taking advantage of we're living out our dream and we're really excited about it," Jamie said.
Only Jamie has been in the Philippines to do some work with Mama Earth, but the rest of the California-based sisters are excited about their first visit.
The Robinsons Department Store campaign will be launched later this year, around the same time as the Lylas' music. By then, the four sisters are also hoping to be visiting the Philippines as models and musicians.
