Teen suspected in death of Fil-Am girl held on $1-M bail
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A 17-year-old boy suspected of raping and killing a six-year-old Fil-Am girl in Washington State is being held on $1 million bail.
He will likely be tried as an adult.
Gabriel Gaeta, who lived in the same mobile home park as Jenise Wright, faces charges that include first-degree murder with aggravated circumstances, and first-degree rape of a child, according to prosecutor Kelly Montgomery.
Court records released on Monday revealed that the six-year-old Fil-Am girl suffered blunt force trauma to the head, was strangled, and sexually assaulted.
Gaeta was arrested last Saturday after Jenise’s body was found buried in mud near her home in East Bremerton, Washington last Thursday.
The girl had been missing for four days.
Jenise’s father told reporters that Gaeta was a close family friend who had visited their home many times.
A Balitang America source in Bremerton said Gaeta is a senior at Olympic High School, who played on the football and wrestling teams.
