Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam features 2 Filipino-Americans

NEW YORK – The granddaughter of Filipino singer Sylvia La Torre has earned admirations of her co-stars in the sequel to the hit cable movie Camp Rock.

Ana Marie Perez De Tagle plays “Ella,” a memorable ditsy girl in Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam.

The Jonas Brothers, De Tagle’s co-star in Camp Rock 2, described her as inching her way to stardom.

“She's amazing. She's so talented. She's gonna be a bigger star that she's already in,” said Joe Jonas.

“She’s got a great voice,” said Nick Jonas who plays “Nate Gray” in Camp Rock.

Disney's focused group showed viewers enjoyed “Ella's” flighty comments which are often repeated by teen girls with Glee.

“I’m excited to be here and I'm glad that the fans are behind us and supporting. It really has been a whirlwind and I'm very happy, very lucky to be where I am,” De Tagle said.

De Tagle said fans can look forward to a great rock musical in Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam.

“I think it's going to be something that they can relate to, families can relate to, because they'll think back to when they went to a summer camp, when they had a summer romance,” she said.

Aside from De Tagle, another Filipino-American, Roshon Fegen, is also featured in the Disney cable movie sequel.

Fegen plays “Sander,” a super high energy director of activities. He is also starring in a new Disney original series "Shake it up," premiering this fall on the Disney Channel.

Fegen is the son of well-known television actor Roy Fegen and a Filipino mother.

“It’s an amazing feeling you know. I love to be part of this whole opportunity. It’s amazing. It’s been a dream of mine forever. I’m just excited to be part of it,” he said.

The Jonas Brothers said the movie is not just fun to watch but teens get to learn a few more things about life.

“It’s about finding who you are, and yeah, there are younger guys and younger girls having a great time, going crazy, whatever. But really, it's about focusing in, really finding your passion,” Kevin Jonas said.

Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam reunites the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and the rest of the gang.
