Filipino Hajj pilgrim dies in plane to Dubai
DUBAI – A Filipino who came from the Philippines to join a pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia died after suffering a heart attack.
Syamsul Alam Muhtar, 59-year-old of Tawi-Tawi, was part of the group of Hajj pilgrims who were passengers of the Emirates Airlines.
He suffered a heart attack and died on the plane on September 16.
Philippine authorities in Dubai and the Northern Emirates are now preparing to repatriate Muhtar's body.
