DFA resumes operations in Cebu
MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs on Thursday announced that it is resuming consular and passport service operations in its Regional Consular Office in Cebu.
The DFA said they were assured by the management of the Pacific Mall in Mandaue City that the building were they regional office is located is structurally sound even after Tuesday's strong quake.
"The regional office also announced that it would conduct regular operations on October 20 (Sunday) to make up for the temporary suspension due to the earthquake," the DFA said in a statement.
Bearing in mind the public safety, DFA Cebu, with due diligence, will manage the number of passport applicants entering the building.
Services had actually resumed yesterday with releasing of passports and attending to emergency travel requests.
The regional consular office also kept its communication lines with the public open through its 24/7 Hotline and the Department's social media accounts in Facebook and e-mail.
