It's
that time when the girls bust out their bikinis, the boys bring
on their board shorts, and head to the most sought after strip of
beach in the land: Boracaya
A gathering
of top models, designers, directors, writers, actors and sun worshipers
hook up to kick-off one of the biggest and toughest events Boracay
has ever seen: "The Forever Summer Campaign" had the island
all abuzz.
You
can kick-off your flip-flops as well and kick-back.
Sports
Unlimited is on.
Summer
is synonymous with beach and fun under the sun.
Boracay
and its mayor, Dong Cawaling made sure that the fun on his island
will be talked about long after the summer is over.
Some say to "save the best for last," but the island of
Boracay decided to "bring out the best first" by kicking
off the summer with this forever summer campaign.
Top
models, designers, directors, actors, writers and Boracay sun-worshipers
hooked up to kick-off this one-of-a kind awesome race around the
island.
All
the participants in this awesome race were divided into six teams
that could be identified by the bandanas each team member wore.
There
was the Black team, the Purple team, the Blue team, the Red team,
the White team and the Green team.
To start the race, five members of each team had to be tied together
by their feet and race to a pole that was about 50 meters away.
The
pole "marked the spot" where the team had to dig to find
the map of the island.
Why
did the team need a map of the island? That’s because they
needed to go to 12 different resorts located from station 1 to station
3.
Each resort had a different task for each team to complete. Sounds
pretty simple right? Wrong.
There
were rules that had to be followed about how to get to the resorts
and what had to be done before the team could start the task.
Rule
# 1. The only way you can get from one resort to another
was on foot. No flagging down of trikes. No riding piggy back on
motor bikes. No pedi cabs. No getting on paraws, bancas, jetskis
or speedboats. Nada. The only way was either to run or walk to resorts.
Rule
# 2. The team can only start the task when all members
have reached the resort. Only when every member of your team is
in the resort can you start doing the assigned task. Take note,
even if the task only calls for 1 or 2 members to do it, we repeat,
all members must first reach the resort for the team to be allowed
to start the task.
Rule
# 3. Each team has the liberty to choose which of the 12
resorts they want to go to first but their time does not stop until
the team gets to all 12 resorts and properly completes each resort's
task. |
