If you’ve never been to Boracay, we will introduce you to the beauty, charm and uniqueness of this one of a kind beach community. If you’ve been to the Boracay before we’ll show you what’s new in this island paradise here comes the sun. Boracay beckons!
If there is one thing about Boracay that we can say aside of course from it being beautiful is that the island is constantly changing there are always new places to go which equals new things to do.
On this trip... we heard about something new you could do on the island. THE REEF WALKER! We’ve tried the reef walker before in another island, but never in Boracay. So our search for the reef walker began and after a few inquiries we found ourselves in BOAT STATION 3 at JALS WATERSPORTS with dive master CLARO VIDAL.
Although we've tried the reef walker before every “walk" is different if you do it in a different place no sea bottom is the same which makes every underwater encounter different.
The best part about having the reef walker in Boracay is that now non-divers can get the same experience as divers.
You don't need any kind of prior experience to be able to use the reef walker all you need To do is wear the 35 kilo helmet that is connected to a hose that is connected to a pump that supplies filtered, compressed air. I know what you're thinking... I can hear you saying "35 kilos on my head" just reminding you that when you are underwater you will not feel any of those 35 kilos.
Once you put the helmet on you don't even need to swim to the bottom of the sea…. Why? Because you can take the stairs down now how cool is that. The reef walker platform has a stairway that goes down about 20 feet.
Once you have reached the bottom you have the freedom to leisurely walk around without having to think about going back up to the surface to get air like you normally would if you were snorkeling or free diving.
The reef walker experience makes you feel like you are part of the underwater world and when you feed the fish with a little bit of imagination on your part you can feel like you are having lunch with them in their home. It's an awesome feeling.
So now that you know where to find the REEF WALKER…doesn’t let any excuse stop you from trying it. "Don’t know how to swim" no need to… you can walk. "Don’t know how to dive" no need to… air you need comes from the helmet. "Don’t want to get my hair wet" after the reef walker your hair remains nice and completely dry.
Sports Unlimited word! The REEF WALKER has arrived in Boracay! PASS IT ON!
If there is one fixture that we would like to see all the time on the beaches of Boracay it would be the PARAW for the sake of our non-tagalog speaking viewers. A "PARAW" is what we call our local island sailboats.
Through the years... the Paraws in Boracay have evolved the sails of the Paraw are now multi-purpose aside from it being essential to the movement of the boat. The sails are now colorful works of art as well as floating billboards for advertisements.
If up to now all you can say about the Paraw is that you've seen it on the beaches of Boracay that has got to change. It's time that you are able to say that you have taken a Paraw ride in Boracay.
There is no better way to cruise naturally all around Boracay than via Paraw you get to enjoy the sun, the wind and the sail surrounded by nothing but the water and its sound against your boat.
It was Paula's first time to take a Paraw ride and from the way she looks so chilled and relaxed this definitely won't be her last on this trip.
You can make arrangements to sail in a Paraw at anytime of the day. A morning cruise would be a great way to start your day at the beach soak up some rays or even better it would be an ideal way to get a relaxed, first time scenic tour around the island.
A Paraw cruise would also be super after an active day on the beach...you can take a sunset sail. What a perfect way to wind down and rejuvenate for a few hours we guarantee you that after you will be all ready and refreshed to conquer the night life that's ahead of you.
If you happen to be with a special someone on the island. Or if you just met someone who you think could very well be special a Paraw ride is a great way to get away from everyone for a few hours spend some alone time that could lead to precious lasting memories. Trust us especially for all you guys out there memories of a Paraw ride with a pretty woman in Boracay will surely last a long time.
All I have to say is this BRENT BORACAY ROCKS! How much nicer can these students have it huh. Imagine studying in Paradise and then after homework is done you get to play soccer in one of the finest beaches in the world that's pretty much part of your school grounds. I rest my case your honor.
Beach soccer is becoming one of the most popular sports on the beach almost all the locals who live here and have kids who study in Brent are involved in the numerous beach soccer tournaments held here.
Come to think of it… who needs to see Beckham on TV when you can watch soccer in beautiful Boracay?
Nothing compliments a beautiful beach more than a beautiful woman! Meet our guest on this trip Marc's co-amazing race participant PAULA TAYLOR.
Paula and her childhood girlfriend joined the Amazing Race Asia and finished a very respectable 5th place and everybody knows that Marc and his buddy Rovilson finished no less than 3rd place something both teams can be very happy and proud about but if you ask me though in my humble opinion. If you ask Marc or Paula what the best part about joining the race was it would probably be meeting each other along that amazing journey which who knew would end up with them together here in one of Marc's most favorite places on earth Boracay!
Another thing I can always say about Boracay aside of course from it being stunning is that the island is unpredictable you just never know what you are going to see here and you also never know what you might end up doing case in point.... PATINTERO in the beach some may ask why? The answer you'll get on the island. Why not if you can play it in the streets then you can play it on the beach.
The PATINTERO rules on the beach are basically the same as when I used to play it back in my elementary days, but if you had told me back then that in the future you will be seeing this game played in the fine white sands of a tropical island paradise.... honestly... I would have looked at you funny.
Everybody knows that saying... "When the going gets tough the tough go shopping "...
That for sure though cannot apply to the shopping you do in Boracay simply because there is nothing tough about the way of life here... all you are exposed to when on this island is great fun… great food…great beach and great drinks. Which means you are feeling great the whole time so here's how the saying should go here when the going is great... feel greater and go shopping.
WELCOME to the new and improved TALIPAPA…
If my sister Jackie was here... the first thing she would say to me is "I HOPE YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BUY YET ANOTHER BAG TO PUT YOUR FIVE OTHER BAGS IN IT” I have to admit… I am a "BAGOHOLIC” But what can I do? Bags in Boracay are just way too hard to resist. |
