Here's the bottom line, when Nivea throws a celebrity event which is yearly, you make it happen so you can attend. This year we were flown to Davao to enjoy all the fun and games Nivea prepared for us at the Pearl Farm Resort. Every Nivea event is a chance for celebrities to re-unite every year, catch up on stuff, and spend quality fun time together. Hooray! The sun finally made an appearance, that's what we like. The sunshine was my cue to start the day with a refreshing swim to get my juices flowing for the games ahead. That swim felt great, now I'm ready and raring to go. Let the games begin!
Here's our next Nivea challenge, Bring Me Game. Here's how it goes, a marshal tells the teams what Nivea products they need to look for in the pontoon. Two members at a time are assigned to find each product. It will be up to the first two members to pick how they want to get to the pontoon either by kayak, pedal boat or you can also choose to swim. There will be a total of ten trips made by the team. After the first trip, it will now be up to the games director to tell the members how they get to the pontoon. Once you get the product you then have to bring it back to the starting point then your next two members can go get the next product. Ernie and Eric started for our yellow team, and since they both have swimming backgrounds, they opted to swim to the pontoon. They found our Nivea Sunspray and swam back in the lead ahead of the orange team who seems to be our toughest competitor based on the first two games we've done. Marc and Reema went next on the kayak. Kayaking has always been one of Marc's strengths, everything is going smooth for them, they got to the pontoon, and got their Nivea product and they made it back, still keeping our team's lead.
As in a lot of competitions, the closer you get to the end, the heat gets turned on and participants get more serious and really push themselves to make their team win. Joyce Jimenez gave it her all when she was swimming and might just have pushed herself too much which caused her to faint when she got to land. Jordan Herrera was another casualty, he got a cut on his foot while running, and he probably stepped on a sharp shell. Because of what happened to Joyce and Jordan, the red flag was raised and the game was suspended. Winning is wonderful no doubt, but we have to remember that at the end of the day, this competition is still just all for fun.
If you don't know yet, which is highly unlikely, my partner Marc and his buddy Rovilson made it to the AXN Amazing Race Asia Show. To get through the thousands of applicants alone is already amazing, but it was not that big of a surprise to us on Sports Unlimited knowing that Marc and Rovilson both have magnetic personalities that can catch anyone's attention, not to mention both their buffed bodies to go with that personality. Speaking of magnetic personalities, Marc and Rovilson brought guests with them to this event from the AXN Amazing Race, Paula Taylor and Vanessa Chong came down to visit Marc and Rovilson here. They will definitely get a taste of the celebrity life that Marc and Rovilson lead as well as a taste of all of the fun you can have in the Philippines.
Alright, now on to the egg play. It started off as a simple dare to try to crush eggs which we're told you just can't do when the egg is put in your palm or between your thumb and index finger, really? Call us crazy, but this is not being able to crush an egg. Really got our goat and we just had to do it. But typical of Marc and Rovilson, this competition between men versus egg turned into man versus man using the eggs. Now the goal was to let each other soak in yoke. Leave it to my partner Marc to find a way to play in anything, an egg being no exception.
The pressure's off, games are over; it's now chill time chatting with friends, Enjoying down time, which you know celebrities don't have much of. That's why a Nivea event is always a welcome treat. Oh, here's a couple of F-Y-I for you, did you know that JM Rodriguez is my cousin? Yes he is on my mom's side, and did you know that my sister Jackie is the ninang of Mylene Dizon's son Tomas? Yes she is.
This is what draws everyone to the islands, beautiful sunsets. If there is one thing that the Philippines can brag about, its our beaches and sunsets to die for. As the sun made its exit, the awarding ceremonies took place.5th place went to the Nivea Baby Blue Team, 4th place surprisingly went to Nivea Body Orange Team, that means our yellow team may have a shot at winning it all, 3rd place goes to Nivea For Men Green Team, 2nd place Nivea Yellow Team! We come in as the bridesmaid again and not the bride. The champions this year, the Nivea visage Pink Team. Hats off. Who knew, they snuck up on all the teams like a thief in the night.
Let me just say one thing about the party after the games at a Nivea event, its celebrities gone wild, from the flowing beverages, to the throwing of bodies into the pool, to the daring dancing and the unforgettable fun that leaves everybody talking about the event till the next time we all get together. Thank you again Nivea for this Refreshingly Fun Under the Sun affair that we will definitely all remember. |
