Mabuhay from Malaysia! Sports Unlimited is still in Kuala Lumpur, kids. We explored the fun that this country had to offer and experienced the thrill of so many places.
We were not only citizens of the Philippines but of the world! Sports Unlimited enjoyed that right of world citizenship by exploring what fun stuff our world has to offer by continuing our tour with our Southeast Asian neighbor.
We noticed that there were a lot of things in common between the Philippines and Malaysia but there were also lots of different things you can do here that we don't get to do back home. This makes traveling to somewhere else so much more fun.
Who knew that right in the heart of the city of KL you could uncover an ocean of discovery located at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center? This next generation aquarium will take you on an exciting journey from misty mountains through mysterious rainforests the ever-changing coast to what's down under.
If you are not one to go way into the jungles to explore what's in it or not the type either to go down into the deep blue sea, a trip to "Aquaria" here in the heart of KL will give you the best of both worlds without missing out on a single treasure these worlds have to offer.
After we checked out Aquaria, we realized that Malaysia is one of the world's mega-diverse countries. Diverse equals uniqueness, uniqueness equals different and as we said earlier, “different is good”. We saw everything you could think of seeing here at Aquaria and so much more that you would never imagine seeing.
The Sunway Lagoon and Resort was filled with water activities that are great for beating the heat and raise your heartbeat as well.
In the middle of this water wonderland there is a man made lagoon that houses jet boats, jet skis and many other water toys that you fancy. Marc and Jackie decided to take a spin on the jet boat.
I have to say, my partner complimented the jet boat really well.
The Sunway Lagoon Resort is a very popular summer destination for those who just want to beat the heat. There are also those who want to raise their heartbeat like Marc. I can’t believe he got my sister Jackie to go on those high water slides.
There were numerous water slides to choose from all sizes and all shapes. Marc could not get enough of them. Jackie though was the exact opposite.
This resort was huge. They created a water wonderland that made you feel you were in an island. Case in point: “man made waves good enough to get some surfing action”. Jackie wasn’t able to take the slides but she enjoyed the surf.
You all know that Marc is from Australia so surfing is a familiar thing to do.
The waves in this man made ocean came every three minutes. It was fascinating how they recreated the ocean with sand in the heart of the city.
The Sunway Lagoon and Resort was a cool place to be in. You can enjoy all the fun you can have in the water. If you are the thrill-ride type of person then you have to come to KL just for AJ Hackett's "G-Force X."
OK, I could maybe see how Marc got my sister Jackie on the water slides but to convince her to get on this G - Force X ride is almost next to impossible.
You know what rides cannot be described in words and you have to ride it to be able to explain it? If there was any way to describe this G - Force X thrill ride, it would be like being launched from earth into space by a gigantic sling shot.
AJ Hackett, the creator of the bungy jump has done it again. This G Force X ride is nothing like you have ever felt before. It would be totally worth it if you are the type to do extreme rides.
Meantime, Kuala Lumpur, the commercial hub of Malaysia was abound with a vibrant blend of shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities for visitors like us.
Shopping establishments in KL display a wide range of goods rivaling that of major cities elsewhere. Our guides took us to the popular Central Market for shopping.
If you have an eye for novelty items, you can get great local souvenirs here as well as browse through the fascinating display of antiques, jewelry, gemstones, woodcarvings, pottery and glassware. Did I mention that this market is fully air conditioned which makes shopping here a “no sweat” effort? |
