Our 10th year on air is coming to an end. It’s hard to believe that Sports Unlimited started here on ABS-CBN 10 years ago in 1997. Sports Unlimited is one of the longest running News and Current Affairs shows on ABS, and if I may say so I, the show have really evolved in many ways. It's great to see that now, everywhere you go, and you see people that have definitely caught on to the Sports Unlimited active-adventurous lifestyle.

One of the characteristics of our show has always been unpredictability. We never really know what unexpected experience we are going to go through each week.

This year in particular has been full of surprises, not only for our audience, but surprising ourselves on what we were able to do that we never dreamed of doing a year ago. First things that come to mind, belly dancing in a full on belly dancing costume. Marc is the very first non-pilot in the Philippines to ride on a fighter jet. Last year he watched a re-run of the Tom cruise movie with him on a fighter jet, next thing you know he was actually riding in one. I have a similar experience, last year I was only reporting about and watching Erik "el terrible" Morales, this year I hanged out with him and his wife in Amanpulo like we were all a family. That I could have never predicted. Last year Marc was just watching the amazing race, this year he made it to the final cut of the race. It was a long shot but Rovilson and he actually did it.

If there's one sport that I really got know so much of this year, it’s boxing, and if there is one extreme sport that our show really got involved in full on, it has to be wakeboarding.

If there was anything going on in the world of wakeboarding this year, Sports Unlimited was there, and when there was a big fight on the ring this past year, Sports Unlimited gave you a lot of the exclusive blow by blows.

You know how they say that "it's the people that make a place ", we've gone to great places this year but it's the times that we brought a group or met up with a group at those places that really made our trips so much more enjoyable. Like the time we hooked up with the world hip-hop champions The All Stars, that day was a total hoot. And our surfing trip to Pagudpud when we happen to be there at the same time some of the world's best surfers were there, talk about great timing. When the world's best kite surfers happen to choose Bulabog as their venue to shoot their DVD, we just had to be there. Its people that make a memory stand out.

What can we say; we're very thankful for this past year to all of you who watched us all year long, .and to all the people who contributed their talents to put together our show every single Saturday. Coming into next year, because of this show, we can say that we've seen more and we know more. But more is simply not enough. In 2008, you can look forward to a lot more, because everyday in our calendar is” unlimited.”
