New versions of the classic Cortez shoe are among the items featured in Nike's Spring 2012 collection.

MANILA, Philippines - Nike recently launched its Spring 2012 collection, which the sports apparel giant described as a celebration of "sporting moments that have defined our brand, our products and our athletes through the years."

The collection contains colorful polos, board shorts, jackets, shirts, women's tops and footwear.

"Explore the purity of style as defined by the sport -- football, running, basketball, or mix it up to create your unique off-pitch look... Remember, you're always an athlete," Nike said in a statement.

Nike's Spring 2012 collection is categorized into several groups: Track and Field, College Basketball, French Federation (inspired by Federation Francaise de Football) and Brasil Federation (inspired by the Confederacao Brasileira de Futebol).

It also has new versions of classic Nike icons such as the Cortez shoe, the GS Polo and the N98 jacket.

"Relive the evolution of each product as it is refined through the years," the company said.

Last year, Nike released its signature basketball shoes in Christmas colors, which were worn by Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Amar'e Stoudamire during the opening of the 2011-2012 NBA season on December 25.

Nike is also known for making shoes named after Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao.
