MANILA, Philippines -- American restaurant chain Quiznos will soon open in the Philippines.

In a statement released by BusinessWire, the Denver, Colorado-based restaurant said it has selected the ACA Group as its master franchisee to launch the first Quiznos in the Philippines.

“We are excited to work with the ACA Group, and know that the strong Quiznos brand and premium recipes will expand their market in the Philippines,” Lee Vala, international chief development officer for Quiznos, said in the statement.

The ACA Group also holds the master franchising rights for US-based Johnny Rockets, and was recently recognized as the brand’s international franchisee of the year.

Quiznos is known for its toasted sub sandwiches, soups and salads. Among its signature sub creations are the Double Cheese Steak, Black Angus on Rosemary Parmesan and Prime Rib & Peppercorn sandwiches.

Quiznos said the first banner store will open early this year, without providing further details. It said there are plans to further expand to more than 35 locations depending on the results of the first restaurant.

“Quiznos’ unique toasted recipes really appeal to the Filipino palate, and we are confident local consumers will embrace Quiznos as they have embraced other major American brands,” Dr. Amable Aguiluz, CEO of the ACA Group, said in the statement.

“With the strength of the Quiznos brand, we know Filipino consumers will come out in droves to experience Quiznos’ chef-inspired tastes and world-class service and operations. We are searching for an amazing first location for our banner store in Manila, as we want to create a huge impact with this great American brand,” he added.

Quiznos has master franchisees in nearly 25 countries and territories. Quiznos said it expects to open more than 400 international locations by 2020.
