How Robin Padilla stays fit and healthy

MANILA, Philippines – Action star Robin Padilla is one of the actors in show business who have a body that many consider as “to die for.”

In an interview on ANC’s "CityScape," the 43-year old actor shared how he keeps himself fit and healthy.

According to Padilla, he started to be conscious about his own body after he was inspired by the late actor and martial artist Bruce Lee.

“Na-expose ako sa art ni Bruce Lee kasi nauna niya akong naging fan as an actor. Nitong huli nakikita ko na -- masyado kasing sumikat ang mixed martial arts eh. Nakita ko na wow si Bruce Lee ang pinag-umpisahan ng lahat ng ito,” he said.

Padilla also stressed the importance of a proper diet.

“Ang advice ko mag-oatmeal ka muna. Tumira ka muna ng hanggang isang mangkok na oatmeal bago ka kumain ng kanin. Importante ang fiber sa katawan eh,” he said.

 

But beyond fitness and nutrition, Padilla also mentioned a "secret" to his healthy body.

“Maging masaya ka. Alam niyo lahat ng klase ng workout, balewala iyan kapag malungkot ka sa buhay mo. Kailangan light lang tayo. Lahat ng dumadating sayo, cool lang,” he said.

“Huwag ka masyado mag-set ng goal na alam mo namang hindi mo kayang abutin. Minsan kasi ang failure ang lakas magbigay ng depression niyan. Sabi nga nila, ‘live by the day.’ Kung ano yung araw na ito, doon ka lang muna mabuhay,” he added.

More than his rugged good looks and lean physique, Padilla has indeed become an inspiration to many Filipinos -- be in show business or health and fitness. – From a report by Michelle Ong, ANC
