MANILA -- Fisher Mall, headed by the family of fishing magnate Roberto Simeon “Bobby” del Rosario, will finally open on January 29 in time for the Chinese New Year.

“We have high hopes that Fisher Mall will immediately make an impact in the retail industry because every aspect of the mall was carefully studied, designed, planned and executed,” Mallers Management Corp. president and CEO Ray del Rosario said.

Fisher Mall, located at the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and Quezon Avenue, is owned and operated by Mallers Management Corp.

It is the first green building or eco-friendly building in the area.

The streamlined silhouette of the structure is reminiscent of a fish jumping out of the water, a result of many schemes that went through the mind of architect Jun Palafox.

Its basket-weave design also provides a sculptural effect at different times of the day. At night, for example, the façade’s LED light wall changes colors.

The mall’s centerpiece is the Fashion Ramp, which is inspired by the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas.

Other features are: the Fisher Box Office, which has five full-digital cinemas with one 3D-capable cinema; PlayLand, one of the biggest arcades in the metro with different play zones for kids of all ages; and the CrossFit Halcyon, the first mall-based family-oriented gym in the Philippines that offers varied fitness programs.

The Fisher Supermarket, which sells fish and other seafood at low prices, opened last December 10.

During the opening, Fisher Mall will have Chinese cultural exhibits and dances, lion and dragon dances, as part of the Chinese New Year festivities.

The Fisher Mall Food Hall will also open with these brands: Elar’s, Kimchi, Iron Sizzler, Adobo Connection, Sbarro, Hainanese Delights, Mongolian Quickstop, Fruitas Counter and Buko ni Fruitas. McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen and Jollibee are also some of the quick-service choices.

Among the anchor establishments are: National Bookstore, Bonchon, Goldilocks, Pepper Lunch, Classic Savory, Kokoro Ramenya, Mister Kabab, Western Appliance, Lady Grace, Payless, Henlin, Executive Optical, Kelex, Watson’s, Beyond the Seams, Primadonna, Twinky, Ideal Vision, Otto, TNT, Chris Sports, Maui & Sons, World Balance and RRJ.

More brands are also set to open shop at the Fisher Mall.
