Food shorts: Restaurant discounts, new TV shows

Discounts at The Bistro Group
Restaurants under The Bistro Group are offering 50% off food and beverage orders worth a minimum of P2,500 and a maximum of P5,000 to Citibank credit card holders.
The promo, which runs from February 4 to 7, is part of the restaurant chain’s “Taste the Love” campaign.
It covers all branches of TGI Friday’s, Italianni’s, Flapjacks, Pig Out!, Krazy Garlik, Bulgogi Brothers, Ma Maison, Village Tavern, Watami and Modern Shanghai, and the Alabang Town Center, Mall of Asia and Trinoma branches of Fish and Co.
HEAT’s buffet promo extended
HEAT, the buffet restaurant of EDSA Shangri-La hotel, has extended its “PowerUP StartUP” buffet promotion until Sunday, February 10, citing “popular demand.”
On its Facebook page, HEAT said diners who come in groups of five or more can enjoy the promo – P799++ per person for lunch on Mondays to Saturdays, and P999++ for dinner on Sundays to Wednesdays.
HEAT, which boasts of an award-winning buffet served in 13 interactive theater kitchens, initially offered its promo until January 31.

New food TV shows
Two food shows are set to premiere on the cable channel TLC this month.
One of them is “The Originals with Emeril”, which features chef Emeril Lagasse and his tribute to iconic dining spots in the United States.
In the show, Lagasse travels to different parts of the US to know more about famous dishes such as Boston Cream Pie and French Dip Sandwich.
“The Originals with Emeril” will premiere on February 6 at 9:30 p.m. It will air every Wednesday at 9:30 p.m., with replays every Monday at 8:30 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, TLC will also start airing the eighth and final season of the food and travel show “No Reservations” hosted by chef Anthony Bourdain. The popular series continues Bourdain’s culinary and cultural adventures, as well as his frank observations about the world.
“No Reservations 8” will premiere on February 12 at 9 p.m. It will air every Tuesday at 9 p.m. with replays every Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. and 11 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m.
