Revilla says 'Panday' boosted election bid
MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Ramon “Bong Revilla Jr. said his Metro Manila Film Fest top grosser “Panday” played a part in helping him top the latest surveys for senatoriables running in the 2010 national elections.
According to the results of the latest Pulse Asia survey released Friday, Revilla leads the senatoriable race with 51.9%, which translates to a statistical ranking of 1st to 2nd places.
Revilla also topped the January Social Weather Station survey with 58% of respondents supporting his re-election.
He said his role as a fantasy action hero certainly helped boost his public image.
"Wala din akong record sa graft and corruption kaya nakatulong din ‘yon. (I don't engage in graft and corruption so that helped as well),” said Revilla.
He also advised presidential candidates who wanted to win the 2010 Presidential election to steer away from airing political ads with negative messages.
Revilla said positive ads could help boost the ratings of political candidates.
Candidates should also show sincerity in their ads, he said.
Revilla said, meanwhile, that if he has a choice, he will not spend much money on added TV campaign because of expensive TV spots that could reach up to P300,000 per exposure.
However, he admitted that TV ads are today’s way to sell a candidate.
The senator is currently on leave from TV shows and movie pictures.
He said, he would likely be back after the elections. Among his projects lined up after the elections are a Star Cinema starrer and a collaboration with comedian Vic Sotto for “Enteng Agimat."

Bong revilla walang record ng graft and corruption,Sinong lolokohin mo ang lelong mong panot.Nakakasuka itong survey na ito.Bong Revilla at Lito lapid mga TUTA NI GLORIA.Dapat sa dalawang ito itapon sa basura.Ginagawa nyong basurahan ang senado.Puro kayo mga "BOBO",sana mag-artista na lang kayo.Hindi kayo bagay maging senatong.Puro mga vested interest lang ni gloria ang alam ninyo.Kung sino man ang mga involved sa survey na ito sana gamitin nyo ang utak ninyo,lalong lalo na sa pagbuto sa darating na halalan,dahil nakasalalay dyan ang kinabukasan ng mga anak ninyo.

bong's statement is an insult to the minority but more intelligent pinoy voters! what a shame for such statement coming from a senator of the republic of the philippines!
also, it clearly shows that the likes of bong, lito lapid are still so proud of what they've accomplished in the senate.... to keep those chairs warm and decorated during senate sessions, decorated with manikins in barong tagalog!
