Adidas releases new Derrick Rose shoe

MANILA, Philippines – Adidas has just released the fourth signature shoe of Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose: the adizero Rose 2.5.
“At 11 ounces, the adizero Rose 2.5 is the lightest signature basketball shoe Derrick has ever worn to give him next level speed and support for the second half of the season and NBA playoff run,” Adidas said on its website.
Among the shoe’s signature details is a top down Google Earth view of Rose’s Englewood hometown embossed on the toe box and upper.
“The map view is a continuation of the ‘Cleared for Take-Off’ theme of the Rose 2 and represents a view from high above,” Adidas explained.
Other details: “ROSE” on the tongue and three stripes branding on the back of the shoe, an infrared-colored sockliner with Rose’s signature, and his jersey number “1” on the toe.
“It’s a high top. I like high top shoes to play in,” Rose said in a video to introduce the new shoe.
Adidas said the new shoe is inspired by the adizero Crazy Light.
It added that the upper features a premium “Sprintframe” execution and enlarged “Sprintweb” area to reduce weight, add support and allow maximum motion control. There is also a “Geofit” memory foam collar to provide optimum comfort and fit, especially with the adizero speed wrap ankle brace.
The adizero Rose 2.5 also uses the adizero Crazy Light outsole traction system, which has varied engineered thickness to ensure maximum grip in high wear perimeter zones, and less thickness and weight in low perimeter zones like the midfoot.
The show is available in home and away colorways (gray and white, and black and red) and retails at P6,995.
