Journalist Henry Halasan dies at 88
MANILA, Philippines -- Veteran journalist Henry Halasan passed away in New Jersey at the age of 88 due to cardiac arrest.
Halasan was one of the main anchors of "The World Tonight" when it premiered in 1962. He was also a former news director of ABS-CBN.
Halasan will be cremated in the United States and his ashes will be brought back to the Philippines.
In a statement, the network said it mourns the passing of Halasan.
“Mr. Halasan, a part of the news and current affairs group of the Kapamilya network for so many years, will always be remembered as a pioneering broadcast journalist and a revered member of the ABS-CBN news organization. May his soul rest in eternal peace.” -- ANC
