Miss World welcomes Chinese New Year in PH
MANILA, Philippines -- The reigning Miss World is visiting the Philippines to join in the festivities welcoming the Chinese New Year.
The 2012 winner of Miss World, Wenxia Yu of China, will be at the SM Mall of Asia on Sunday afternoon to interact with Filipino followers of the long-running pageant.
Yu will be accompanied Miss World CEO Julia Morley and Steven Douglas.
The beauty queen is also scheduled to participate in an Old Manila Castillian tour, as well as in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal monument with Mayor Alfredo Lim.
She will also officially represent Miss World in attending the Chinese Art Exhibit at the Manila Hotel before her scheduled visit to one of the pageant's local beneficiaries, the Philippine General Hospital.
The 23-year-old Yu bested 115 other international contestants at the 62nd Miss World pageant held in August in Inner Mongolia, China.
The Philippine delegate to the pageant, Queenierich Rehman, finished in the top 15.
