Flower prices up at Dangwa as Valentine's Day nears

MANILA, Philippines - Different kinds of flowers were brought to the Dangwa Flower Market in Sampaloc, Manila on Friday morning as Valentine's Day nears.

Prices have increased slightly as demand for flowers is expected to grow starting this weekend.

Vendors encouraged people to buy early as prices are likely to rise further on Tuesday, February 14.

Below are the flower prices at Dangwa as of Friday morning:

  • Roses: P280 to P300 per dozen
  • Stargazers: P180 per stem
  • Gerberas: P220 to P250 per dozen
  • Tulips: P100 per stem
  • Statice: P60 per dozen
  • Carnation: P180 per dozen

Aside from flowers, traditional Valentine's Day gifts include chocolates, greeting cards, and stuffed animal toys. -- Report from Bettina Magsaysay, ABS-CBN News
