MANILA, Philippines - Still looking for that lifetime partner? Here's a tip from a survey on love conducted by the polling outfit, Social Weather Stations (SWS).

Most Filipinos prefer a lifetime partner who values giving more love than receiving it.

Seventy seven percent of adult Filipino women prefer to spend their life with partners who give love rather than receive it.

In the poll question “If you could choose only one among the following as your lifetime partner, which would you pick?” about 808 of 1,050 Filipino women, mostly married, chose someone they love, but ones who love them more.

Only 23% or 241 of the female respondents opted for a person that they love more.

The SWS Valentine’s special survey, conducted December 5 to 10, used face-to-face interview with 2,100 Filipino respondents, 300 from Metro Manila and 600 each from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

It has a ±2.2% margin of error.

About 1,428 of the respondents are married, 504 are single, and 168 have live-in partners.

Although the survey asked both sexes, the value placed on receiving love over giving it is stronger among women.

A total of 65% or 682 of male respondents gave it importance. In general, around 7 out of 10 Filipinos, across all areas and income classes, value accepting love more than giving it.

Around 70% come from high income bracket A, B, and E, 73% from bracket D, and 67% from the lowest income group.

The preference is also dominant among younger people, with 75% for ages 18 to 24 and 25 to 34, while an average of 70% for older respondents.

Being loved weighs more regardless of marital status, 76% of those with partners, 72% among single, and 71% among married people. (Newsbreak)
