Where will Angelo Reyes's soul go after suicide?
MANILA, Philippines - If former military general Angelo Reyes asked for forgiveness from God seconds before he pulled the trigger, his soul could be in heaven right now, a bishop said.
"Bago niya pisilin ang gatilyo, baka may nasabi siyang, 'Diyos ko, patawarin mo po ako.' Doon sa little moment...maaaring it makes a difference between going to hell or elsewhere," Archbishop Emeritus Oscar Cruz said in an interview on radio dzMM Saturday morning.
Cruz was replying to a question about the perception that the souls of people who commit suicide go directly to hell.
Reyes committed suicide after former military budget officer George Rabusa accused him of pocketing millions of military funds.
In a news article in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Reyes's wife, Teresita, was quoted as saying that her husband's last words before he pulled the trigger were "Lumayo ka (back off)."
The words were apparently directed at his aide, Jett Cesar Abon, who tried to stop his boss after seeing that he had secretly pulled out a gun.
Reyes committed suicide before his mother's tomb at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City on February 8.
According to the news item, quoting memorial park worker Feliciano Recorba, Reyes said "sorry" to his son before he died.
There were reports that Reyes was seen praying before his mother's tomb before the suicide.
God's forgiveness never runs out
If ever allegations against Reyes were true, and in spite of his violation of the commandment "Thou Shalt Not Kill," God will still forgive him, Cruz said.
"No sin, no crime, no matter how heinous, can consume the goodness and forgiveness of God," he said.
Cruz added that even if a person who has sinned only thought of God before he died, even without directly asking for forgiveness, he can still be forgiven.
"Sabi ko nga wala pong hangganan ang awa at kapatawaran ng Diyos (As I've said, God's forgiveness and mercy does not run out)," the bishop said.
Full Christian burial
Cruz said that the archdiocese in Manila has allowed a full Christian burial for Reyes, whose interment was scheduled on Sunday.
He said that before, the Catholic Church had a policy of barring a man’s body from being blessed and brought into a church if the man committed suicide.
He said the Church changed the policy due to findings in the fields of psychiatry and clinical psychology that a man who commits suicide is not himself.
“Bakit naman hindi mo bibinditahan ang tao na nagpakamatay na wala sa sariling huwisyo?” he said.
However, he said that the decision to bless a suicidal man’s body would still depend on the priest concerned and the customs of the people within the archdiocese’s jurisdiction.
In Reyes’s case, he said the Manila Archdiocese allowed giving him a Mass and full Christian burial.
He said that the decision can still be appealed before the higher authorities of the Church, but the decision of the local prelate always prevails.
Oscar Cruz: Stop telling LIES to children
Stop telling lies to children. Stop telling them that they have to be subjects to a form of sadomasochism - that they must love a creator who they should simultaneously fear. Stop scaring them with stories of hellfire and eternal punishment. Stop telling them that believing without evidence (or the process of non-thinking you call faith) is a virtue.
Stop preaching that we are CREATED SICK in this universe just to be COMMANDED TO BE WELL. Stop this nonsense notion of a totalitarian regime, a divine North Korea.
"... the mildest criticism of religion is also the most radical and the most devastating one. Religion is man-made. Even the men who made it cannot agree on what their prophets or redeemers or gurus actually said or did. Still less can they hope to tell us the "meaning" of later discoveries and developments which were, when they began, either obstructed by their religion or denounced by them. And yet — the believers still claim to know! Not just to know, but to know everything. Not just to know that god exists, and that he created and supervised the whole enterprise, but also to know what "he" demands of us — from our diet to our observances to our sexual morality. In other words, in a vast and complicated discussion where we know more and more about less and less, yet can still hope for some enlightenment as we proceed, one faction — itself composed of warring factions — has the sheer arrogance to tell us that we already have all the essential information we need. Such stupidity, combined with such pride, should be enough on its own to exclude "belief" from the debate. The person who is certain, and who claims divine warrant for his certainty, belongs now to the infancy of our species. It may be a long farewell, but it has begun and, like all farewells, should not be protracted."

"We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively outnumbers the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here...
Religion is about turning untested belief into unshakable truth through the power of institutions and the passage of time. Religion means faith. And faith means believing something without evidence. And if you believe something without evidence and you’ve been brought up to think that belief without evidence is somehow supremely virtuous and you don’t have to justify your belief – you just say, ‘that’s my faith, don’t question it’ – that’s a recipe for disaster.”

DEATH
It is not for me to decide nor this good bishop Cruz, His assumption is based on feelings and emotion but not with the Holy Scriptures. Remember bishop Cruz, The commandment said "Thou shall not KILL", he kill his borrowed self. Life is not your own. Study more bishop Cruz the Scripture!!!
PEACE
where else!??
we know that god is forgiving but with all the corruption he did, seriously ask yourself. where else he should go?
Where will Angelo Reyes's soul go after suicide?
This is in addition to what I have posted previously. This is proof on what God has joined together that no man can separate them;Genesis 5:2 “Male and female created He them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.”Note that God call them both Adam. Why?
crazy
so in other words we do what we do and do not care what others say
it is a crime what he did
if he was poor and just a consructionworker he did not get it
now he is rich and for sure pays a lot to the church you say
sure we wil do
god is watching and crying about these priests
Where will Angelo Reyes's soul go after suicide?
We do not know and we cannot tell! Let us reflect on the Lord's Gospel:
Judas Hangs Himself
Now when morning had come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: and they bound him, and led him away, and delivered him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor. Then Judas, who betrayed him, when he saw that Jesus was condemned, felt remorse, and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, saying, "I have sinned in that I betrayed innocent blood."
But they said, "What is that to us? You see to it."
He threw down the pieces of silver in the sanctuary, and departed. He went away and hanged himself. The chief priests took the pieces of silver, and said, "It's not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood." They took counsel, and bought the potter's field with them, to bury strangers in. Therefore that field was called "The Field of Blood" to this day. Then that which was spoken through Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled, saying,"They took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him upon whom a price had been set,
whom some of the children of Israel priced, and they gave them for the potter's field,as the Lord commanded me."
Matthew 27:1-10

Ano ba talaga Bishop
Oscar Cruz: Stop telling LIES to children (and the uneducated)
Stop telling lies to children. Stop their mental torture and have you condemned their physical abuse done by your peers. For we both know that this is just a scare tactic of your church to increase the number of your flock.
Stop saying that we are CREATED SICK in this universe just to be COMMANDED TO BE WELL. Stop this NONSENSE notion of a totalitarian regime, a divine North Korea.
STOP THE HYPOCRISY. You say "Bakit naman hindi mo bibinditahan ang tao na nagpakamatay na wala sa sariling huwisyo?” And then you will also say "Bago niya pisilin ang gatilyo, baka may nasabi siyang, 'Diyos ko, patawarin mo po ako.' Doon sa little moment...maaaring it makes a difference between going to hell or elsewhere." So what if he didn't utter those words of repentance? And then when you need to justify why the church needs to offer the Reyes' family one of its "poducts", i.e. funeral services, you will say the former secretary was not in his right mental state.
DOUBLE STANDARDS apply, right, as long as the Church can still profit.
It's ARROGANT to claim to know we have 'souls' and where they go

Anatta - "No Soul" or "No Self"
He obviously committed harakiri because he doesn't believe in the Catholic concept of the soul, just like other members of the AFP who are Freemasons.
Whatever his belief is, his "soul" is in "hell."
This is because of Anatta, meaning "no soul" or "no self."
There is "no soul" because the "soul" is not static, not independent, not permanent. It continuously changes. It is interconnected. It is interdependent. It is impermanent. It cannot be segregated because it connects with everything else.
His "soul" changed from the time when he was a child, to his teenage years, to his adulthood, to his later years.
His "soul" is interdependent and interconnected to his family, his fellow AFP members, his countrymen, his fellow humans, etc.
Even the animals are connected to his "soul" since this is how humans evolved (samsara).
The effects of his actions (karma) will cause suffering for the remnants of his "soul" which are his family, his fellow AFP members, his countrymen, etc.
The remnants of his "soul" or his memory is also seen by some as animalistic, an effect of samsara. Victims of the AFP, victims of fake bombings, victims of unpaid wages, victims of lost taxes, and other victims will see the animal perpetuating in the remnants of his "soul"--his family, countrymen, soldiers, etc.
Even foreigners who are connected to his "soul" will think of him and other Filipinos in a less human way.
That's why his "soul" is in "hell." The remnants of his "soul" will have to labor in pain to wiggle out of it. Otherwise, they will perpetually loop in a reincarnic cycle of suffering.
