MANILA, Philippines -- When music superstars paraded down the red carpet at Monday's Grammy Awards, some of them were wearing creations made by Filipino designers.

Kelly Price, who was up for three awards -- Best R&B Song and Best R&B Vocal Performance for "Not My Daddy" and Best R&B Album for "Kelly" -- arrived at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California wearing a sparkly dusty rose colored gown by Filipino designer Oliver Tolentino.

""With thousands of designers here, somebody who's nominated for three Grammys was wearing my gown," Tolentino said. "It's a different fulfillment for me. Kelly, she's very loyal, 'pag alam nyang may big event siyang gagawin, talagang kinokontak n'ya kami."

Tolentino also dressed up R&B artist and "The Voice" judge Cee Lo Green, who took home two Grammys for R&B Song and Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for "Fool For You." The flamboyant Green wore a white fringed shirt, with a bedazzled neckline.

Monique Lhuillier, meanwhile, created the gown of Hilary Scott of the country group Lady Antebellum, which won the Best Country Album. Scott drew raves for her ombré gown from Lhuillier's pre-fall 2011 collection with gathering at the hip in hues of eggplant and raspberry-purple.

Filipino designers are fast becoming favorites of music artists.

Lhuillier also counts Beyonce as one of her clients, while another Filipino designer, Furne One, has dressed up Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.

One said because of his growing list of celebrity clients, he will be opening a shop in Hollywood soon.

Despite the tough competition in fashion, Tolentino said Filipino designers are gaining popularity not just because of their talent but because they are hard-working.
