Telcos launch offers for V-Day
MANILA, Philippines -- The country's telecom companies are getting in on the Valentine season.
Ayala-led Globe Telecom introduced new prepaid offers on Valentine's Day under a quick service menu aptly called *143#. Each is bundled with text, call and mobile browsing service available in different prices and validity periods.
"Globe is one with the world in celebrating the love month and we are excited to spread the love to our prepaid subscribers by offering them a set of new, compelling and relevant promos," Peter Bithos, senior advisor for consumer business, said in a statement.
The Unli All Trio has unlimited calls to Globe and Touch Mobile and unlimited mobile browsing and is priced between P60 and P1,400, while the All Net Combo provides unlimited text messages and five minutes of calls to all networks and 50 MB of Internet for as low as P30 to as high as P600.
The Immortal offer, which Globe claims to be its most in-demand promo, has returned with two variants. The Immortal Trio provides 50 text messages and five minutes of calls to Globe and TM for P25, while the Immortal Text offer has 25 text messages to Globe and TM and five text messages to other networks for P15.
Globe said both Immortal offers have no expiration or validity dates.
Meanwhile, the Unli Tingi offers unlimited text to all networks, unlimited calls to Globe and TM, and unlimited mobile browsing for only P5, and is for valid for one hour. Registration is open from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. daily.
Smart offers
Smart Communications, Inc., meanwhile, is touring the country's first Internet plug-it designed for women aptly called the Rocket Chic. It features a metallic pink finish, a retractable USB plug, and connection speeds of up to a whopping 12Mbps. At P2,345 on prepaid, Smart touts that it is cheaper than a date at a fancy restaurant.
Smart is also offering the Samsung Galaxy Y Netphone Edition, a full-fledged Android smartphone that goes free with every Smart Netphone plan along with unlimited Smart-to-Smart texts (UNLItxt), and unlimited access to Facebook and Twitter feeds (UNLIsocial).
Those looking for love, meanwhile, can make new friends using SmartNet’s chat feature which can be used for free until March 31, 2012.
Then there's the Smart Link RegaloLine which lets you send cakes, flowers, toys, and even gadgets to anywhere in the country. OFWs who would like to send load to their special someone can do so with the Chikka TopApp (free from the Android Market).
With the press of a button, users can send various denominations and just have the fee deducted from their load wallet if on prepaid or included into the monthly bill if on postpaid.
