Love song medleys show evolution of romance
MANILA, Philippines - Listen to your favorite love songs across decades compressed into one medley.
It's the month of love, so in the spirit of the season, I came across just the right video to share with your loved ones.
An Internet music group named CDZA, composed of musicians from New York City, has been wooing netizens with their music videos that unify popular love songs into a historical medley.
The group that's been featured in CNN and other global media performed a medley of different love song hits from different eras. The clever medley accounts for the history of romance through music from the 1950s to the present day. Try and compare the old tunes with popular music of today.
The first music video depicts hit songs about "Women wooing Men". It's nice and refreshing to reminisce on old tunes that have touched the hearts of many lovers.
Among the many hit songs in the first medley are: 1964 classic by Mary Wells entitled "My Guy"; "Baby Love" by the Supremes; Donna Summer's "Love to Love you Baby; Madonna's 1985 hit "Crazy for You"; and Whitney Houston's "I will Always Love You" of 90s. From the 2000s onwards, the expression of love seemed to change with hit songs from Britney Spears and Pussy Cat Dolls to Katy Perry and many more
Among the many hit songs in the second video about men wooing women medley are: 1955 love anthem by the Platters "Only You"; Beatles "Hold Your Hand" from 1963; 1964 Temptations classic song "My Girl"; 1973 Stevie Wonder hit "You are the Sunshine of my Life"; Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight" from 1976; Lionel Ritchie's "Hello" from 1984; and the 1990's anthem by Boyztomen "I'll make Love to You". From the end of the 1990s onwards, it also changed drastically with hit songs from Nine Inch Nails, Ludacris, Eminem, Tenacious D, Akon, Lil Wayne and many more.
It's really fun to watch and share. You can't help but notice a drastic change in the way romance is expressed into songs nowadays. Seems to me like they don't make love songs like they used to.
