MANILA, Philippines -- Empower yourself with information, join the NEW People Power. Install ABS-CBNnews.com's mobile application in your device and have news right at your fingertips.

ABS-CBNnews.com has made available its free application on more mobile operating systems in time for the 26th anniversary of the EDSA People Power, further allowing Filipinos around the world to get the information and news they need immediately and wherever they are.

Available in the Android Market and Apple App Store since last year, the application may now be installed in Windows 7 and Nokia phones running on Symbian, Java, and MeeGo.

Last year, the app was made available for Android phones and tablets, as well as in iOS devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Users can access the application directly from the app stores and markets in their mobile devices.

The ABS-CBNnews.com app brings users the latest stories from the Philippines’ most trusted news organization. These stories may be bookmarked for easier reading. Cached stories can also be read even without steady connection to the Internet.

The app features easily navigable and fully customizable menus, a Breaking News ticker, a full peso exchange rate matrix and sleek graphics for an enhanced news reading experience. Users can also easily share stories with their friends via email or social networking sites.

The highlights of the application are its citizen journalism and social media features.

Users for most mobile devices may now contribute to Bayan Mo, iPatrol Mo (BMPM), ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs’ citizen journalism community, directly through the app. This, application developers say, is a pioneering feature, a first among local news apps.

It also keeps users updated on the latest social media posts of ABS-CBN reporters and news anchors.

News categories which users can choose from include: Recommended, Latest, Nation, Metro, Business, Entertainment, Lifestyle, Sports, and Global Filipino.
