X-Men artist wants Pinoy talent for new comics studio
MANILA - Filipino-American comic book artist Whilce Portacio, known for his works on titles such as "The Uncanny X-Men" and "The Punisher," is putting up a comic book studio is looking for local talent.
Portacio, who worked for Marvel Studios and was one of the co-founders of Image Comics (Walking Dead), announced on his Facebook page that he is looking to put up "a new kind of art studio to draw comicbooks together as team."
"Attention, the talent search being conducted right now is for salaried artist positions [who will be working in] a physical brick-and-mortar teaching/working studio in Manila, Philippines," he wrote.
Running for the whole month of March, the "Are you a Comic Book Artist?" search is looking for talented local pencillers, inkers, background artists, colorists, layout and figure artists.
Those interested are required to submit samples of their finished works, with strict accordance to the guidelines, in the various drop-off points or online by sending it directly to [email protected].
