MANILA, Philippines – Playboy Philippines isn’t going to be left behind in the battle of the topless stars as it unveiled its April cover with model-comedienne Wilma Doesnt on the cover.

On the cover for the men’s magazine’s fourth anniversary issue, Doesnt is seen wearing only a black thong with her left leg strategically positioned to cover her breasts.

The blurb, “Breaking the stereotype,” could be a swipe at rival magazine FHM, whose original March cover with actress Bela Padilla was criticized as “racist” for using dark-skinned models as background. FHM has since changed the cover.

The Playboy photograph was taken by Franco Raymundo, with styling by John Lozano and Vince Flores.

The model, as well as the magazine, quickly drew praises from netizens.

“Looks incredible! I’m so glad to see some Filipino skin tone come out,” Janna Cachola said on Twitter.

“Wilma Doesnt is gorgeous! All skin tones are beautiful! We are all uniquely beautiful,” agreed Kimberlicious also on Twitter.

On Facebook, Mrsmiles Blancaver Babas commented: “Ganda ni Wilma Doesn’t. Proud Cavitena.”

Blogger Spanky Enriquez posted the cover on his Facebook wall, saying “Doesn’t she look gorgeous? Great cover, Playboy Philippines!”

Apart from Doesnt, also going topless for men’s magazines this month are Bianca Gonzalez on Esquire Philippines and Michelle Madrigal on FHM Philippines.
