A crackdown on former Filipina overseas performing artists still in Japan is in the offing as Tokyo police uncovered a copycat crime of a 1991 incident where the body of another Filipina was chopped up.

Japanese newspapers reported that the Tokyo police recovered a paper bag containing body parts suspected to belong to a Filipino woman living in a unit of a high rise condominium in Minato Ward Thursday night.

A Japanese newspaper reported that the police said another woman, 20, found the mutilated body part left by a man in his 40s.

Police said the condo unit on the 26th floor in the Odaiba district is shared by a Japanese man and several Filipina women who work in the Roppongi district.

The crime brings to mind the 1991 murder of 19 year old Maricris Sioson, who was mysteriously murdered and chopped into pieces also in Tokyo.

In this new case, authorities said one of women, returned home around 7:30 p.m. after her co-worker and her housemate, also in her 20s, failed to report for work Thursday night.

She later told authorities that she met the man carrying a mutilated body. She reported the incident to a nearby police box around 9:55 p.m.

Police said they suspected that the mutilated parts belonged to the 20 year old missing woman and are now looking for the man.

Police said the victim was sleeping when the other women left the condo at around 8 a.m. Thursday.

Police officers found in the paper bag a square chunk of human flesh measuring around 30 centimeters on each side believed to be part of a human waist apparently sliced off with a knife.

Investigators also found blood stains on the futon bedding in the kitchen of the unit. The unit has three rooms and a living room.

The women’s co worker said, ''She never failed to call whenever she takes a day off, but she didn't (do so) on April 3.''
