MANILA, Philippines - Archaeologists have unearthed human remains and artifacts, some of which could date back to 1,000 to 500 BC, in a town in Cebu.

These were uncovered outside a church in the town of San Remigio. Almost all human remains were found facing east, save for one whose head is attached to the other, looking at the opposite direction.

Also found were pots and pieces of metal, which led archeologists to believe that the artifacts and remains belonged to the Metal Age.

Archeologists from the United States, Japan, Laos and other countries will be arriving in Cebu to study the artifacts found in the province.

Meanwhile, the human remains will be brought to Guam for examination. -- Report from Rico Lucena, ABS-CBN Cebu
